<notepaper> 39, Paternoster Row, London, E.C.
November 26 1866
Dear Sir,
I beg you will excuse my delay in acknowledging the receipt of the three engravings. I regret that at present I know o no publication in hand to which I can apply your new, &, I should think, valuable application of photography. At the same time in considering its perfect accuracy it must be observed that the representations of the architectural lines appear to be slightly “out of drawing”. This I believe is an effect common to all photographic representations, more or less.
It would seem to me that for the purpose of making known this new art, a publication of some engravings well adapted to the process would be the best course.
I will take an early opportunity of shewing, the engravings to Mr. D; Calnaghi, and should I obtain from him any suggestions that may appear useful I will take care to inform you.
I shall be glad to be of any service in the matter and remain,
faithfully yours
Thos. Longman
