My dear Sir

On our arrival in Town I took the miniature of your Aunt & my grandmother “Mrs Shakespear” <1> to have the case repaired by Mr Rolfe <2> who is a Photographer and as he had to take the glass out we begged him to Photograph the miniature at the same time, which he has done, as you will see by the enclosed but it does not do the miniature justice –

I have had the pleasure of sending you the miniature to see & to Photograph if you should kindly be inclined to do so – this miniature is only a copy –

We have taken this house till the end of Febry with the option of remaining till the 1st of June should General Low <3> keep pretty well till then, when we would return to Sealhurst. – I hope you will keep the miniature till our return, but should you at any time wish to get rid of it, if you will kindly give it to Mrs Low in Edinburgh – she will keep it for me –

Sir John unites with me in best compliments to Mrs Talbot yourself & your daughters

pray believe me dear Sir Yrs very truly
Augusta Low
