Sir

I have the honour of sending you two pamphlets on the Assyrian inscriptions. Please accept them as a token of my gratitude. One contains two reports by the minister of State about the study of the British Museum Assyrian Inscriptions, the other contains the translation of the Inscriptions of Hammurabi. I do not know if you know of the translation of the Khorsabad Inscriptions, which I published with Mr Oppert? But since we have not yet finished our Commentary, I do not yet have a distributor for the copies, apart from the ones which have appeared in the Asiatic journal. Our Commentary will be fairly long. I will send you a copy as soon as it is finished

Please accept, Sir, my most sincere regards
Ménant
