Sloperton, <1>
March 26'
1836

My dear Talbot –

We found yesterday, on our return from Bath, where we had been passing a couple of days with the Crawfords,<2> your very gallant and (what is better) kind & thoughtful remembrance of Mrs Moore’s<3> tastes.

You are not surely about to give yourself up to entire solitude at Lacock! We have a dinner and bed here at your service whenever you are good-natured enough to announce your coming.

Ever yours truly
Thomas Moore

H. F. Talbot Esqr
Lacock Abbey
Chippenham

Notes:

2. Dr Stewart and his 2nd wife, Caroline, née A'Court, of Bath (mentioned in Moore’s Journal).
