My dear Henry

I must write these lines to thank you in all our names for your kindness in giving us such Early intelligence of dear Constances safety <1> – I was beginning to be very impatient for news of her taking to her bed.–

I conclude the young Lady must be called Photogena in memory or rather honour of your new discovery!– <2>

Pray let us have a line again shortly as we shall be anxious to know that Everything prospers nicely.

With affte love from us all

Yr affte Cousin
H G Mundy

My mother & Louisa <3> beg I will congratulate you most sincerely from them.

Weymouth
Tuesday

Notes:

1. Constance Talbot, née Mundy (1811–1880), WHFT’s wife, who had just given birth to their 3rd daughter the day before.

2. In spite of this suggestion, the child was named Matilda Caroline (25 Feb 1839-1927). ‘Tilly’, married name Gilchrist-Clark, would be their only child to marry and provide grandchildren.

3. Lady Harriet Frampton, née Fox Strangways (d. 1844) , and Louisa Charlotte Frampton.
