Having received a donation of seeds of two kinds of Palmetto fern from the I. of Jamaica, which Uncle Wm <1> much wished to possess – I have abstracted part, thinking that you also might like to try how the air of Lacock would agree with them We have nothing here either large enough or hot enough for W. India Plants so I must hope to see them flourishing when I visit my friends.
As I do not feel sure whether you are established at Edinburgh or not, I think it best to direct to Lacock – & shall be very glad to have some tidings of you & yours whenever you have time to write. –
