My dear Henry
We want much to know the name of this? – Noel <1> has brought it in from the “Pit” – to be sent off as soon as possible. – Our Gardener, tho’ a good one practically is not first rate about names of wch he makes a glorious jumble! – So we resort to Head quarters & our kind Assyriologue! Q is not the Y in the wrong place? –
Louisa Howard <2> has been here – for the last ten days & very enjoyable it is to have her all by herself. Mr Hd <3> is on his Official Woods & Forests Tour in Scotland & Winifred <4> with her brother in Ireland – It is such a pleasure to talk over old times & people of which & of whom so few now Alas! are left who knew or care any this. –
We hope you will tell us something of Constance <5> who I fear has been upset by all that has happened – will the winter places be the same as usual tho’ I hate to be thinking of winter as yet wch this weather however Compels one to do – Last week however was glorious. We had our Italians, & the Artist was as happy as he could be out of Italy; especially as I fed him with “Macaroni aux tomates” to his heart’s content! Emily<6> says she has profitted much by his visit. I do so wish that Rosamond <7> cd have seen his lovely drawings. –
With love to all Yr Afte Cousin
H G My
