Dear Henry –

Hearing of you at Melbury makes me wish very much that there might be any chance of your also seeing the garden here – where Mr Selwyn & I have been very busy all the summer, & have made an interesting collection of plants which I should so like to shew you – I think we shall proceed into Dorsetshire in Dec^r but probably not before. I hope you have been pleased with Melbury garden, when Eaton was here, he took away a great many additions which I daresay he will shew you, & if you can afford time to bestow a few lines upon me either about the garden, or botanical information generally, I shall be very glad to receive them – A week’s visit from M^r <Don?> was a great pleasure to us this autumn –
