Llandough. Sept: 24th 1860
My dear Mr Talbot,
I am greatly obliged for your subscription to my church, if I can get sufficient funds together, I hope to ornament it as highly as it will bear: but our churches in the neighbourhood are but poor, and as <intend?> to carry out as far as possible the restoration of the present building I cannot do as much as I should wish.
I do not know where my mother intends to spend the next winter, but I do not think she will be induced to try Nice again, but perhaps she will go to <Mentone?>, which she enjoyed very much when she was there.
Yours <truly?>
Edward P Nicholl
