Tuesday

My dear Henry

I am very much obliged & pleased at the offer of a “ Garden <1> Chair” which Charles <2> told me I could have for asking! Some fine day I will send down a message early & I shall enjoy seeing the Garden & hearing all you can tell me

Your aff
Jane

H. Fox Talbot Esqr
Lacock Abbey

Notes:

1. Most likely reading - written over other characters and smudged text.

2. Just possibly Charles Feilding (1780-1837), WHFT's step-father, but from the informality of the address much more likely Charles Henry Talbot (1842–1916), antiquary & WHFT’s only son.
