My dear Henry
I hope you will not return to Scotland without paying us a visit. Pray tell Mrs Talbot & the rest of your family that it will give us very great pleasure to see them here. We have many things in our minds to show them in this neighborhood & any time after this month we shall be ready for them. You have not seen this place for many years – It is not the best season for showing off for the leaves scatter themselves in the most untidy manner & gives [sic] every place a desolate appearance but it looks well. I have just seen the first part of Traherne Moggridges work on the Flora of Mentone I think the flowers are most satisfactorily portrayed & it is sure to be well done with such assistance as he is sure to will get from his Father & Uncle, he is you know the nephew of John Llewelyn). I hope you will become a subscriber.
Believe me your affte
Jane H. Nicholl
P.S.
I am so very sorry to hear how ill Uncle William has been at Redlynch – it must have been worse to be there.
