My dear Henry
I shall be obliged to go home to receive some friends who are coming to us this week or I should have been delighted to have accepted your most tempting invitation. You must let me pay you a visit another time for I want to see you & Mrs Talbot very much & to hear a great deal from you – I should have enjoyed dear Caroline at Lacock too but I cannot say when I should be able to do so & therefore it will be best to think no more of my disappointment.
Your affte Cousin
Jane H Nicholl
P.S.
No “roughing it” as you call it would prevent my enjoying Lacock pray assure Mrs Talbot of this.
