My dear Sir,
Dr Rost has been selected as librarian to the E. I. Office, a much more lucrative position than tee one he occupies with the R. A. S. I have resigned the Honorary Secretaryship finding that my bodily weakness made my attendance at the meetings almost impossible. General Rigby takes my place. This is an arrangement of the Council to be sanctioned or not at our next general meeting. My objection to קרט is that I have not seen ק ever etymologically equivalent to kh, so far as I remember. If you look at line 17 of the black obelisk you will see that I agree with you as to <cuneiform> being father of assur, <Asspal?>.
The 3d Vol. of inscriptions is finished, and I do not know why it is not out. I am vexed at it, as I am obliged to be lengthy in my references to it for want of the proper paging.
If I get my verbs out in my next part; I shall certainly begin a new paging
I am my dear Sir Yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
