London, <manuscript> 18th April 1860

Dear Sir,

I will bring your offer of presenting the printed Translation <1> for our Journal and have no doubt that the Council will accept it; but there ought to be some alteration in numbering the papers, and any expense attaching to this or other charges, the Council would, of course, defray. When we had numbers of 100 papers, they came out at half price, and four were bound up into one volume

In regard to the correction in the Birs cylinder, <2> you will see by the lithographed copy that the passage containing the word is found in one cylinder only.

I find we have a paper for reading on Saturday which will occupy all our time, so that the absence of the “Michaux’s Atom,” will not be of any inconvenience

believe me yours truly

Edwin Norris

WF Talbot Esqr
