R As Soc:
16th June, 1860.
Dear Sir
I propose printing in our Journal the four translations of the Tiglath-Pileser Cylinder, exactly as they were printed in the separate pamphlet, typographic errors excepted. I know you sent me long ago two or three errata, and I am sorry to say that they have been mislaid, in consequence of the long delay that has taken place. Will you then have the kindness to repeat them, that they may be properly inserted? I should be very glad to see a new translation now, made with increased knowledge, and with the hints mutually supplied in what was done then, but as that is not apparently coming, the best thing is to publish the whole as it is. It would be pity [sic] to lose what was done in 1857
I hope you have the passport safe.
Believe me dear Sir yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
