Lassen’s Ch is printed in the Journal Asiatique for 1840. The line which represents siyatim masti[a?]ychya [illegible deletion] da is made [cuneiform] sa gabbi nuhsu ana nisĩ iddinnmu. Haug in a paper printed in 1862 at Bombay cites the Zend shâiti, ease, comfort. The word occurs in various spellings in E.I.H. iv.58. Nerigl. ii.10. Sir H. Phill. iii.16. Tig. viii.28. Also in Hammurabi ii.7. where we must read nuhsim [cuneiform], with mimmation. see also in R i.24. ana merisim lutin, to its bed I restore, [Hebrew] Heb. All these from my dictionary. I have not time to verify. I think you will find the hieratic form of mih nuh and sim in the E.I.H slab.
I am inclined to refer nearly all the final m’s in Hammurabi to minmations we find I think something very much like it in Himyarituand I have been inclined to take the nomination u to a change of m, in the same way as amo from an ancient form in ami as in Sanscrit. [greek] in a few greek [verbs?].
The la in Phillip i.50 puzzles me, but may it be [illegible], It was not raised, but I caused it to be done, husepis? I rather think you are right about [uttassa?]. we have [cuneiform] in Behistun lines 91.93.94.
The Synchronous Tablet is a fragment in which the contemporaneous Babylonian and Assyrian kings are put together in reference to something done, as in the Bible for Judah & Israel. Thus are Buzur assur of Assyria & Aurnapurijas of Karduniyas. Tiglath Pileser of Assyria & Marduh adanahi of Karduniyas. I quote from a little note in my dictionary. I have not got a copy, but have looked two or three times at the slab. Unfortunately it is but a fragment, and still more unfortunately, from the withdrawal of the Govt patronage it may never be printed.
I think ssatu ssatum. &. is a mountain, the ordinary [cuneiform]. I write of this in haste being called off early to the Post Office, & no post day to morrow
