Brompton
26 Decr 1863
Dear Sir,
I am glad you are come back to town, and hope I shall see you next week. We are unfortunately busy at my office, and I am working Sundays and holidays. My Museum is open all next week. I shall be at the Asiatic Society on Tuesday morning till one o’clock, to welcome our new Secretary who comes from Canterbury. It is Dr Rost, <1> an old friend of mine, and a Semitic Scholar, whom I intend to press as an Assyriologue.
If you contrive to reach Michael’s Grove some evening after 7 o’clock, I should like to shew you the progress I am making with my dictionary, <2> the papers are too bulky for conveniently carrying about.
I remain Dr S yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
