St Davids College
Sep. 16. 1835
My dear Sir,
When I took leave of you at the Inn, I said I would do myself the pleasure of writing a line to you at Aberystwyth, hoping that you would be able to spend a day or two with me before you quitted this part of the Country. The weather has been so extremely bad that I almost fear you may have taken flight before this reaches you, but from the circumstance of your expressing a wish to receive some instruction in Welsh. I flatter myself that your stay will be longer than you first mentioned. I find that the Bishop holds an Ordination in our College on the 4th Octr and as the preceding week is taken up with the Examinations of the Candidates I fear that my time will be too much occupied to make it any compliment to ask you to spend part of it with me. But if you do not intend remaining over that time at Aberystwyth, and will accept of my engagements as an excuse for apparent inattention, it will give us great pleasure to see you then, though I should prefer the week after if it were equally convenient to you.
I do not mention the intervening week as my wife and family will not have returned, and I am obliged to go from home myself one or two days upon particular business.
Believe me to be
My dear Sir,
Yours very Truly
