Sir

The correspondence, which has taken place between you and me respecting the copies of the litho-graphed Assyrian inscriptions for which you applied to the Trustees, has been communicated to Sir H. Rawlinson who promised me to let me have his views on the subject. I cannot at present do more than inform you of this. You shall hear from me again as soon as I myself hear from Sir Henry.

I have the honor to be, Sir Your most Obed Ser
A Panizzi

P.S. Mr. Butler has just shown me your letter of the 14th. I do not find from the minutes of the meeting of the 13th that the Trustees have acceeded to your request. Your letter to Mr. Butler was delivered here only this afternoon.
