45 St Martins Lane
April 4/59 <1>
Sir
I have to apologize for my apparent inattention to you but I have been confined to my bed with a fever for three weeks and last week I spent in the country for the sake of restoring my health. – When I was unwell I desired some proofs of animals to be pulled for your use on tracing paper<2>, my order was misunderstood the proofs were pulled upon India paper by mistake and the tracing paper was sent with the impressions instead of the impressions upon it. According to your request I send my acct herewith, and the bearer will remove from your house the books engravings etc that you have no further occasion for. If you wish any more impressions of wood cuts, upon tracing paper, I shall be most happy to let you have any in my possession
I am Sir Your Obed sert
F. Parker - <3>
Talbot Esqre.
Notes:
1. The date is quite indistinct, especially in the third digit, but WHFT corresponded with the printers Harrison & Sons at this address in the 1850s.
2. WHFT probably wanted semi-transparent prints to use as originals for his photoglyphic engraving experiments.
3. Indistinct - either T or F Parker?
