Mio Signore

Parigi
27 Gennajo 1825

Gio Percy

My Lord

C’en est fait! Now I am wholly contented. I shall have a day on which I will not know my own misfortunes. It shall be the day on which I have the pleasure of seeing you again. I could not have been more grateful for this news. I hope Your Lordship will believe this easily since you know well enough the unchanging esteem I profess for you and, should I be so permitted, the affection, in the full sense of its meaning, which I have for you. I hope that the Captain who has been so good as to take it upon himself to deliver this letter of mine will have the pleasure of seeing you again in London since you have informed us of your journey. It is for this reason that I have asked this favour of him. He will give you a [illegible] stocking on whose model I venture to trouble you to have 6 pairs bought for me by Carlotta, or Richard who would greatly gratify me by refunding the expense, I shall take it upon myself to make the reimbursement upon your arrival, to have them marked G.P. from 13th to 18th and to bring them to me in your things. Inform either one or the other that they should be of natural cotton without bleaching and that they should rather be too big than too small if the right size cannot be found. Please forgive such trouble. I have spoken for the apartment, as Milady ordered, and everything shall be in order for February 1st. Accept my wishes for a happy return and kissing your hands I sign myself

Your Most Illustrious Lordship’s Most Humble and Obedient Servant
Gio Percy
