Per non abusare della gentilezza colla quale V.S. si è compiaciuta di permettermi di scriverle, ho voluto aspettare un’occasione ove in qualche modo potessi esibire sè a Lei che tutta la rispettabile di Lei famiglia qualche sorta di serviggio. Mi lusingo per questo, che ora andando a Parigi potrò forse esserci utile in ogni commissione che od a V.S. od a Miladi od al Sig. Capitano <1> potesse occorrere. Io ci sarò nella ventura settimana e ci staremo per lo meno dieci giorni a quel che mi dicono. Quindi Ella potrà dirigermi là le lettere Posta restante ed io sarò ben contento di poter ancora fare qualche cosa per chi ha tanto diritto alla mia stima ed alla mia gratitudine. Non passa momento che non pensi a quanto ci debba e che non mi sovvenga della bontà che sè V.S. che la st.ma di Lei Famiglia hanno sempre avuta per me. Io la prego di esibire la mia servitù in Parigi a Miladi e d’incaricarsi delle di Lei commissioni. Voglia fare lo stesso col Sig. Capitano e Mlle Petit, <2> assicurandola che sarà per me un sommo piacere il potermi impiegare per chi mi ha fatto tanto bene. Mi favorisca fare con tutti i miei doveri ed ho l’onore di essere

In order not to abuse the kindness with which Your Lordship was good enough to allow me to write to you, I wanted to await an opportunity in which I could, in some way, display both to you and to your respected family, some kind of favour. For this, I flatter myself to hope that now that I am going to Paris I may be useful in whichever errand Your Lordship or Milady or the Captain may require. I shall be there in the coming week and we shall remain for at least ten days from what I have been told. Therefore you can send letters to me there Poste Restante and I shall be most happy to be able to do something more for those who are so entitled to my esteem and to my gratitude. Not a moment passes in which I do not think of all that I owe you and in which I do not recall the kindness which Your Lordship and his most esteemed Family have always had for me. I ask you to present my servitude to Milady in Paris and my desire to take it upon myself to carry out errands for you. Please do the same with the Captain and Mlle Petit, assuring them that it will be the greatest pleasure for me to occupy myself for those who have been so good to me.
