Sig. Padrone St.mo

Translation:

My Most Esteemed Master

A gentleman brought this letter and I hasten to send it to you despairing that I will see you again before the Christmas Festivities which I hope will be most happy and filled with laughter. I would have hoped to have received some news from you which would have been extremely dear to me, but this was not to be. This must just be accepted and I trust that Your Lordship will enjoy good health. I suppose that I will have the pleasure of wishing you a happy New Year in London. These days are nevertheless long. I kiss your hands and I am honoured to sign myself with all esteem and respect

Your Most Illustrious Lordship’s Most Humble and Obedient Servant
Gio Percy
