Seend.
23rd March. 1860.

Dear Sir,

This evening I shall send to the “King’s head” or I believe it is the “Kings Arms” at Melksham a small box containing six sample pieces of iron – the furnace will either make Founding or Forge iron – as the furnace manager may wish. no pudding furnaces are requisite – nor have we any – You have the iron sent you just as it comes or is run out of the furnace into “pigs”.

I remain Faithfully Yours.
R.W. Pittar
