The Specification of Woolrich <1> will not be enrolled ’till January 1843 consequently we have no means of ascertaining of what his invention consists till then – We shall not be able to inform you ’till the 24th Ins whether any opposition will be entered to your present Patent – A Caveat has therefore been entered by the party a notice of whose application for a Patent we send by this Post – and till we in the event of his entering opposition to your Patent it will be of very little use to offer your undertaking to – Mr Elkington & Dr Leeson <2> – We will <use?> it if we think it will prevent opposition but at present we have had no <illegible deletion> instruction from them upon the subject –
