Sir,

I have received your liberal note stating that you are willing to accept the apology offered by the Letter Carrier for having misdirected your letters, but I should do justice to my own feelings on your Complement if I did not express the sincere concern felt at the inconvenience to which you have been exposed thro' his negligence.

I trust that your amity may have a proper effect upon the man's future conduct, if however any further Complaint be made against him, he will be most severely punished.

I have the honor to be Sir Your obedient humble Servant
T Reilly
