I am sorry I cannot hear of a copy of Eckhel, <1> it is at present very scarce and not a copy to be had, the last that was sold fetched 12· 12· 0 The price of Apollonius is 26/– I have not been able to borrow a copy of Marsh, <2> or [sic] can I hear of one in the trade

1. Joseph Hilarius Eckhel (1737–1798), German numismatist; his publications (mostly in Latin) were probably of interest to WHFT.
2. Due to the wide range of WHFT’s interests this it difficult to locate. Possibilities are Herbert Marsh’s A history of the translations … (London: Law and Gilbert, 1812), or James Marsh’s An account of the experiments of Mr Barlow, and those of M Arago, on the magnetism induced or exhibited in iron, and in other metals, by rotation (Edinburgh: printed for A. Constable, 1825).
