Monsieur,

Translation:

Sir

I cannot but testify to you my gratitude for having been so good as to engage Captain Bayens to take responsibility for the little packet for Professor Hooker. Permit me, Sir, to make another request of you. It would be to take the trouble to ask the Captain to inform me of his residence as soon as he is in Florence that I might give him the package in question.

Meanwhile I am honoured to be, Sir, with the highest Consideration

Florence

February 6th 1823

your very humble and very
obedient Servant

Joseph Raddi

Mr W. H. Talbot
Palazzo Ceva

Naples
