June 30th 1841
Dear Sir,
I called at the Royal Society soon after I saw you, for the purpose of ordering the suspension of countermanding the printing of your paper in the proceedings: but I found that this had already been done, until further directions from ye Council ye opinion of ye Council on ye subject of your intended applicatn. could be collected [illegible deletion] but I found that I was too late the paper <1> having being already been printed.
