Vicarage
Thursday Morn.

Sir

I am anxiously waiting your answer on the subject of our intended Society; <1> since the present is the time when the objects, whose benefit it has in view, most need it. – Should you have perus’d the papers I would thank you for them, as I am desirous of submitting them to the consideration of others in the Parish, in order to have a meeting as soon as possible

The Vicar’s seat in Church is so very small as not to be able to contain, with comfort, my family & in addition to this, so exposed, as to render it dangerous for Mrs R in her delicate state to use it; the seat immediately behind the Reading Desk is I understand, unoccupied, may I request the Permission of using it; & I should be happy to pay any fair rent for it?

Your Answer, would oblige, Sir, Your Obdt Servt
Rt Rogers

W. H. Talbot Esqr
Lacock Abbey
