My Dear Ld Rosse
In order to explain the delay which has occurred I must mention that there were some arrangements which I found it necessary to make before I could throw open my photographic invention to the public and in this I have met with some unexpected delays, first in consequence of my absence from home on a visit in Devonshire and afterwards from an indisposition brought on by the heat of the weather which has been most sultry in this part of the Country – I am now however prepared to write in reply to the letter with which I was favoured by Sir C. Eastlake <1> and yourself, and will do so by tomorrow’s post. I am not sure whether you are still in Town – If so, I will call on you about the middle of next week.
Believe me to remain Yours obliged & faithfully
H. F. Talbot
