Swallowfield.
Reading
May 19.

Sir Henry Russell presents his Compliments to Mr Talbot, and begs to enquire whether he has received a packet which Sir H. R. sent him by the post, directed to Laycock Abbey, on the 17th of March. Sir H. R. had been reading, with great interest and instruction, Mr Talbot’s Etymologies; and he could not refrain from intruding upon Mr Talbot with the notes of some recollections which it had recalled from oriental sources, to which a residence in India had accustomed him, and to which long habit had perhaps made him unreasonably partial.

H. Fox Talbot Esqr
