Dear Sir

We beg to apologise for delay in replying to your favour <1> of the 20th – the gentleman who has had the management of the work in question is away in Scotland – he will be home in a few days – and will reply to you – meantime we thank you for the offer to print 1000 maps – which would doubtless prove a great attraction to the book <2> – and we shall feel greatly obliged by the contribution.

We are Dear Sir Yours very truly
