The Grove Harrow July 27. 1856
My dear Sir
I forgot till too late on Saturday to redeem my promise of writing to you. I trust however you were under no anxiety. Your Son is going on very well, and will be able to leave us on Thursday. Mr Hewlett is unwilling to let him go sooner. He will therefore come down to you by the Mail Train I hope which reaches Chippenahm at 1h – 36m.
I am happy to say that notwithstanding his illness he has gained a very excellent place in his Form (average marks having no doubt been allowed him in the other paper) and comes out 7th in his Form, I believe.
I have a very satisfactory report to make of him in all respects.
Believe me [my dr] Sir Yours vy kindly
