17 Drummond Place,
Edinburgh 20/7/71.
My dear Sir,
I am very sorry that you cannot come to Edinburgh in August. I should have answered you sooner, but your letter reached me in the middle of my agony of “Address to Section A”. That is now over for a time – till the proofs come.
I cannot tell whether your paper is original or not, all I can say is that I have not seen its contents before. If you will allow me, therefore, to keep it and ask advice about it from those competent to give it, I will read it or not according to their verdict.
And I shall be happy to communicate any other papers which you are kind enough to send.
Yours truly
P. G. Tait.
