The Circus – Sunday
My dear Henry
A number of Catalogues and Reports & some letters – for you and for me came in the Hamper from Lacock yesterday – I enclose 2 letters – and will forward (if you entrust me so to do) a thin pamphlet presented to you by the Author (George Smith of the British Museum, Oriental Antiquities depart.) entitled “On the Reading of the Cypriote Inscriptions” – shall I do so? – The others I think will keep.
We have a glorious day at last; & rather crisper, with a pure blue sky. & warm sun – Yesterday was miserably drippy & windy though very mild.
Nothing of interest to communicate since I wrote last. I have received the formal announcement from Mr Wm Fry that he has given up the business, and is succeeded by Mr Wm Cave. – who solicits our Custom.
Your affectionate
Constance
Alfred, (the little footman) came yesterday – as expected.
