My Dear Constance
When the other party heard that Mr Pitman had offerred 6000 £ they offerred 250 pounds more. Upon which Mr Pitman offerred 50 pounds more, and the house was finally sold to him for £6300 This is £1800 more than we gave for it – The selling season being nearly over, I did not expect so favourable a Sale.
The furniture is to be taken at a valuation, That is part of the agreement and cannot be altered without consent of Mr Pitman.
I have been out in the Garden. Wilkins is much better owing to something Mr Crisp has given him.
The Lælia superbieus is in great beauty in the stove – Mr Nicholl gave it us some years ago. Many other flowers in the stove. Immense quantity of crocusses chiefly yellow.
Charles is not very well and I think Weston air will do him good
Your affte
