4 Circus. March 31.

My dear Henry

We have just made a wonderful discovery – in regard to Houses – [illegible] it is far Mr Calvert Jones has just been telling us that he only paid £2000 for his large house in Lansdowne Crescent. – but he admits that it was worth about £300 more and that the price was somewhat lower, as an accommodation – to the Party selling.

He is sure that the best houses average for 23 2,300 to £2,500 – so that it is far cheaper to pay the interest of the purchase money than the yearly rent of an unfurnished house. He refers us to a very dependable Man of the name of Hawkins for all necessary information – We shall see Mr Hawkins tomorrow and write you the particulars. He will tell us about no 3, Lady Wood’s, next door.

I am quite astonished that Bath Houses should be so cheap! –

Your affectionate
Constance.
