Circus – <1>

Monday
March 23d

My dear Henry

I find that a 2 dozen packet of these envelopes weighs above 2 oz. so I have taken as many as will not exceed 1 oz. – and of course you can have more sent another day if you wish it, or by the Carrier . Saturday. – But why not tell Hooper <2> to get them for you at Austin’s? It is always at Lacock P. Office that we get them when at home. and should he not chance to have the shape or size that is wished for, he sends to Chippenham, <3> and produces them on the following day – Ela <4> & I have just come in from a drive to <Shack lele’s?> nursery, where I bought a nice plant of the Clematis Montana for our little garden – and hope it will do half as well as some that I have noticed on the houses around. – It has been a charming day – Our garden is in a very florishing <sic> state. and the neighbour’s Almond tree helps to make us brilliant –

Your affectionate

Constance

Ela undertook the commission for the envelopes. I fear she has chosen them too large. – but I know you can get the right ones at Austin’s <5>
