My dear Henry

I have no letters to forward and nothing particular to say – yet fancy you may like to have a line – A parcel came by Mrs Jones the day you left – being, as Cox informed me, the subject of something you had been expecting. Consequently I sanctioned his detaining a letter which was in the Post bag – addressed to the tradesman at Bath; from whom the Parcel came – Cox suggesting that it was probably a remonstrance for negligence – & you might wish it suppressed. You have not been favored by the weather today – it would be dark for the British Museum.

The Athenæum <1> seems to possess the very best of letter paper & pens, if we may judge from the extreme neatness & perfection of the little letter I received yesterday – We were all. in admiration of it – Would you not do wisely by laying in a stock of writing materials at the same Stationer’s who supply the Club? –

Are we really to expect you on Saturday, & at what hour?

Your affectionate

Constance
