Notes:
1. Emily Charlotte Talbot (1840-1918), 1st daughter of Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot (1803–1890), immensely wealthy landowner, mathematician & politician; WHFT’s Welsh cousin.
2. Almost certainly a slight mistake for William Wither Bramston Beach (b. 1826), who married Caroline Chichester, née Cleveland, in 1857. His father, William Hicks Beach (1783–1856), had dropped Hicks from his name by Royal License in 1838.
3. Caroline Augusta Edgcumbe, née Feilding, Lady Mt Edgcumbe (1808–1881); WHFT’s half-sister, and Lady Sophia Penelope Jolliffe, née Sheffield (1822-1882); first m. WTHF Strangways, second m. 1stBaron Hylton.
