Wednesday. evening. Jany 11th
My dear Father,
I have received 2 letters of Yours one written on the 7th & one on the 8th. <1> I forwarded the part relating to the subject for the archeologia to Mr Nesbitt. <2> I wonder at your proposing to engrave upon copper plates. Would it not be better to make it on steel at once, which will I suppose take the required number of copies? I thought you once said you had given up copper plates & intended always to use [illegible deletion] steel. I have not had time to consider the mathematics yet but will. I hope you received the last number of the British Journal of Photography which I sent you. Our weather is mild. To day was nice, but the weather is changeable
Your affect son
Charles
