Lacock Abbey
18th Decer 1856.
My dear Papa,
Mamma desires me to tell you that she has received a note from Valletort this morning in which he says that he will come and see us next Saturday & spend Sunday here on his way home –
The reason I write instead of Mamma is that she unfortunately sprained her arm the day before yesterday, and though it is already better she has consented to rest herself today as much as she could, hoping that it will be well again soon –
She would be very glad if you would bring us some bonbons from Fortnum and Masons if you have any time to spare before you leave London.
I suppose that we shall see you again very soon – so till then – Good bye dear Papa
