My dear Papa
Mamma wishes me to thank you for sending her the paper of the Idiots which she received yesterday.
I have ordered the plant of Sparmannia to be sent here but it has not yet made its appearance Should it come in time for the Carrier we will send it to Lacock on Saturday – unless you should be coming yourself in which case it could wait another week before being sent. Weather today quite charming – all the trees are bursting into leaf – & the fruit blossoms are beautiful – double almonds coming into flower in some of the Villa gardens.
We have not heard lately a report of Jack’s progress at School – but he would be delighted with a letter from you – you should write to him yourself and inquire – Tilly has written since their arrival at Speddoch where they all are including Miss Clark. – She said the weather was rather treacherous with hot sun and cold winds when she last wrote, but all the children were well.
We hope you will come on Saturday –
Your most affete daughter
Ela
