My dear Papa
I send you a specimen of a large handsome yellow flower which grows in great quantities in the neighbouring corn fields – too much so I should think for the Farmers benefit.
we are just returned from a drive to Christ church where we saw the church, a very handsome building, at present rather in want of restoration – we mean to get some photographs which will give a better idea than my description.
Mamma enjoyed her drive but is now rather tired and resting on the sofa. We think her, on the whole, looking better the last few days –
It appears that there was a violent thunderstorm here last night – but both Mama and I slept well and were undisturbed by it.
I will write more another time
Yr affecte daughter
Ela
Today has been cool and pleasant
