My dear Papa
Mama thanks you for your letter of this morning and wishes me to say that we have received the Stilton cheese all right – You speak of coming to Bath before very long, please if you do, to let me know in time what day it is likely to be, – and then if the weather is fine I might perhaps go over to Lacock that morning, and so take advantage of your fly and return with you.
There is a pleasant change in the weather today, it is mild and Springlike, and this evening rather inclined to rain. I hope it is not going to be really wet – but any thing is better than the dismal fogs we have had lately.
Mama wrote you a scrappy letter yesterday which she hopes you received There was a letter from Tilly today and you will be glad to hear that Miss Clark was thinking of returning home and Mrs Maxwell had been written to, and was coming to take care of her, Miss Clark had seen her doctor who considered her state precarious, but Miss Clark as she now wishes to be in her own house, no doubt she will move there as soon as she can.
Monie wishes me to say that she paid 2/6d for the brushes – which can go down to the house account – but if you wish to repay her in person please to send postage stamps – just as you like.
Good bye dear Papa
