My dear papa

You will like to hear that Jack arrived here all right yesterday afternoon (Monie going to meet him at Mangotsfield junction to make sure of his not going off by mistake to Bristol.

He is looking very well and happy and seems to be quite enjoying his visit –

Yesterday evening we took him to the play – the principal piece was entitled “The Wicked World” a Fairy comedy – which did not quite come up to our expectations – but there were besides two Farces that were highly extravagant and laughable and he was much amused.

Today has been stormy with several hailstorms but fine between times; and Jack and Monie were able to take a walk this afternoon, and found some good fossils –
