My dear Papa,

Thank you very much for sending us Charlie Edgcumbe’s interesting letter to read – It must have given you a great deal of trouble to copy it all. I return it to you by today’s post to loose [sic] no time I had a letter from Rosamond yesterday – She and Charles were going to a grand fancy ball, & seemed in very good spirits – but they say it is very cold indeed – So this country appears to be much the warmest this year. – which is wonderful! I will only send this little scrap for fear the letter should be over weight – Love from all.

Yr affecte daughter
Tilly
