My dear Henry

I should like some plants of the Silene fimbriata very much and any thing else! & only wish there was a “plant post” as well as a “book post” and then things would not meet with delays & misfortunes by the way –

We do not know what a Templetonia is like. Can you send a flower or a description. the Forsythia must look very pretty Emma has it in [bushes?] and it does not seem to be the worse for the winter the colour of the flowers is brighter than usual. I bought a Shrub at Garaways last year called Colletea ferox I do not know when it will flower but it seems to care for no cold.

Will you tell Cousin Constance I sent her message about the Vanilla to Emma. Mr Llewelyn has been extremely ill for some weeks past ;but is now beginning to go out & takes an interest in the Garden –

I am sorry to say G. Traherne is determined I hear to dispute his Uncles Will. the [sic] one 10 years ago was the same as regards Charlotte but in that the St Hilary Estate was not left away (to a God Son) as in this & G. Traherne wants to make out his Uncle had a softening of the Brain and could not manage his affairs! now that is a most absurd thing to say he always to the last drew his own cheques on the Bank wrote his own letters & tho very feeble in body was not the least so in mind he gave away large sums in foreign Missions which is one thing this young man thought not wise I believe!!! he liking Horses & Hounds – Chrisr says he has not the least chance of gaining the suit but it is vexatious. John Nicholl’s marriage is to take place early in June at Hendrefoilan near Swansea, which is the Brides Home (a new house about three miles on the Gower Road) Mr Lewis Dillwyn built it

Chrisr is just gone to London his family follow on Monday

Charry is pretty well and takes an interest in the Garden. We have fine Spring weather now but cold winds check the flowers very much –

I am your affate coz.
Mary
