My dear Henry

The Epimediumsent in my last letter is quite different from the English one & Charry <1> will send you a piece of it if you like, but it ought to have some company if it goes by rail. she has not got the Tritelia in her Garden, that is at Clemenstone & being quite flourishing after such a winter must be hardy well worth having I think. –

We have now got some rain and as it was much wanted I expect to see an improvement in the flowers and trees when I go out. The season seems to be a very backward one every where I hope however the East wind is gone & there will be no blight on the Appletrees &c now. –

Mr G. Traherne <2> whose marriage you saw in the newspaper is the ungracious Nephew as you may well call him, the lady is the Sister of the Gentleman who keeps the Grammar School at Cowbridge & is I believe not objectionable & as it is not a new fancy I hope they will suit but I should fear would not be likely to influence him or improve him I am not acquainted with her. –

Mr Llewelyn Saunderson <3> the God Son to whom the St Hilary Estate is left is a remarkably pleasing & worthy young Man a warm hearted Irishman with a good fortune of his own. he has not been much in this Country & I only know him from hearsay we only met once a short time ago – his ancestors I believe had St Hilary & some property adjoining many years ago. –

Emily & Bertha <4> were rather too much alarmed at their presentation at Court to enjoy it very much but next time it will be better no doubt & perhaps amuse them Lady Margaret Charteris <5> was there (their Cousin) but they did not see her.

Kind love to all

Your affate coz
Mary
